About the Speakers

Robbie Pryde - Chief Executive Officer

Robbie brings to Forthlane over 30 years of investment and banking industry experience, most recently as Executive Vice Chair and Head of Corporate and Investment Banking at TD Securities. There, he oversaw the dealer’s Investment Banking Origination, Mergers & Acquisition, Leveraged Finance, Corporate Credit and Global Transaction Banking, and had shared oversight for the Equity and Debt Capital Markets. During his time at TD, he held several roles, including Vice Chair, Head of Global Equities. Prior to joining TD, Robbie was a founding member of Newcrest Capital, which TD Securities acquired in 2000.

Robbie has served on the advisory board of Capitalize For Kids and was on the boards of the National Ballet of Canada and Sterling Hall School Foundation. He was also a member of the Campaign Cabinet for SickKids Foundation.

Robbie holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Western Ontario and is a CFA charterholder.

Rob Vanderhooft - President & Co-Chief Investment Officer

As a 36-year veteran of the financial industry, Rob has an extensive track record of building and leading institutional asset management firms. Rob is the former CEO and Chief Investment Officer of Greystone Managed Investments, an institutional investment manager with a strong presence in alternative investments. There, Rob oversaw more than $35 billion of assets under management, making it one of Canada’s largest managers of pension assets. Prior to joining Forthlane, Rob was CIO of TD Asset Management Inc., which acquired Greystone in 2018. He has previously been named one of Canada’s “Top 40 under 40” by the Globe & Mail.

Rob chairs the Board of the Regina Airport Authority and has previously sat on the boards of the Canadian Coalition for Good Governance, the Saskatchewan Roughriders Football Club, and is a past-President of the Saskatchewan Chapter of Chartered Financial Analysts.

Rob holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Manitoba and is a CFA Charterholder.

Brett Shenkel - International Client Officer & Head of Offshore Client Relations

Brett brings a wealth of entrepreneurial spirit and a commitment to delivering outstanding client service to his role at Forthlane. Prior to joining the team, Brett spent over a decade in the Financial Services sector in New York City, working at Bloomberg LP. During his tenure at Bloomberg, Brett held several leadership positions across Indexed/Passive Investment Products, Business Development and Relationship Management, where he worked closely with the firm's largest institutional clients across the United States.

Brett graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Management from Tulane University, where he studied Management Consulting, Finance, and Marketing.

Andrew Sarna - Portfolio Manager

Andrew is passionate about quantamentals and technological disruption. Prior to joining Forthlane, Andrew was a Finance Manager at the Kraft Heinz Company where he was the finance lead in Canada for logistics, supply chain losses and working capital.

Andrew holds an HBA from the Ivey Business School and a Bachelor of Engineering Science with a specialization in Integrated Engineering from Western University. He graduated from both programs with Honours. Andrew is a CFA charterholder.
